Activate Your Hidden Potential Featuring Steven Dossou

Activate Your Hidden Potential Featuring Steven Dossou

What’s got you anchored to the safe zone playing small in your life? In this episode, we confront the resistance to becoming. Our guest Steven Dossou shares his incredible story beginning in Togo West Africa to becoming an international growth catalyst helping people around the world activate their hidden potential

Becoming fucking unstoppable requires courage. Sometimes it requires courage in the face of external adversity, but sometimes, what's really going on is summoning the courage to BE who we are.

At the top of this episode I share a personal story about how I realized that a challenge that keeps boomeranging back is tied to fear of leaving my safe zone. It becomes vital to examine whether that fear is based in a real threat, or is simply a perception. Examine whether that reticence, anxiety, worry (types of fear) are helping or hindering my next move.

If you haven't read The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz, get on that. It's a quick read but super deep. Challenging in a good way. For example, Ruiz sharply points out:

"To be alive is the biggest fear humans have. Death is not the biggest fear we have, our biggest fear is taking the risk to be alive, the risk to be alive and express what we really are. Just being ourselves is the biggest fear of humans. We have learned to live by other people's points of view because of the fear of not being accepted and not being good enough for everyone else. We dishonor ourselves just to please other people. We have many agreements that make us suffer, that make us fail in life. If you want to live a life of joy and fulfillment, you have to find the courage to break those agreements that are fear based and claim your personal power."

What's holding you back? Someone else's point of view of who or what you should be? How do you discern what's actually unsafe, versus what's self-sabotage when fear, doubt or worry crop up? And once you do, how do you just charge on out there and claim your personal power?

Great questions! I'm glad you asked :)

In this episode, Steven Dossou, who has been recognized one of the youngest most influential coach in the African Diaspora, shares his personal story of backpacking from Togo-West Africa to South Africa, a perilous journey for a young man of 18, because he knew deep down that he was made for more than his circumstances dictated. As he recounts his journey, the courage to step into opportunity versus hang back in the safe zone has catapulted him to the global stage coaching others to face fear and become all they are meant to be.
